Brian and Mommy stopped over to visit friends John and Mona and were pleasantly surprised to also get to visit with Baby Sean and his Mommy Kelly! There's only about 3 weeks age difference between the boys so they should have lot's of fun playing together! Mommy is also looking forward to having grown up play dates with Sean's Mommy and now that spring is here and it's easier to get those strollers out and about - plans are already in motion for that to happen! Here's a couple pictures of John with the boys. I'm not sure what the complicated handshake is they are doing but it is undoubtedly "a guy thing".

Table Talk
After finishing off his lunch, Brian and Mommy enjoyed a little table talk. Just the typical stuff kids like to talk about: world events, politics, next weeks opening day of baseball season - you know, just the normal kid stuff. Brian was feeling particularly photogenic and I couldn't decide which picture to post so.......I'll just post all 3! Enjoy!

Hey Look At Me.....I Have Knees!
The elevated bassinet portion of Brian's Pack & Play came out today. Now that he will be using the entire space, we are sure he will still get as much, if not more use out of it! The decision to remove the bassinet came partially because Brian is pushing the recommended weight limit for staying in the top portion. The other reason though is because he has now discovered that if he folds one of his legs underneath himself, he can push himself up for an even better view of things!

Paper or Plastic?
Mommy keeps telling Brian that he can help pick out the exciting varieties of baby food he would like to have stocked in the cabinet, but, he has to stay awake for the trip to the store. Today, thanks in part to the cold icky rainy weather, he did it! He was like a kid in a candy - strike that - in a baby food isle! "I'll have one of those and one of those......ohhhhh and don't forget the green beans, you KNOW how much I love those! And are those peaches I see? Yum-o-rific! Get some of those too!"

Ride Em' Cowboy!
Staying on for his 8 second ride aboard the wild and unpredictable stallion they call Walter is: Cowboy Brian! Okay, maybe "wild" isn't the best word to describe Brian's mount - but hey, have some imagination! We will keep you updated as to how long Walter continues to have a sense of humor about these types of activities.

Where Did I Leave My Rubber Ducky?
Brian has had bath's in both of his grandparents kitchen sinks, and last night, he had his first bath in the kitchen sink at his own house! He enjoys the entire bath experience and all the splashing that goes along with it! These pictures have all been given a "G" rating and hopefully won't prove to be too embarrassing for Brian in a few years!

Sleepy Buddy
Brian hasn't identified anything as being his 'must have at all times' item yet. He plays with a variety of toys, holds the corners of his blanket when settling into his crib and chews on various stuffed animals. That being said, when I looked in on him during his nap yesterday and saw him in this position with his glow worm, I had to snap a picture of it!

Visits With Brian
Much to Brian's delight, he and Mommy got to see our good friend Chris for a while when we popped into her office for a visit yesterday. Mommy truly has the best of both worlds now. Not only can she hang out with Brian every day, she can also have some some play time with all the terrific friends she used to work with too!

Did You See That?
Daddy put Brian's Pack-N-Play back in the living room and it is now right in front of the big picture window - boy, talk about having a great view! Not only is there lots of room to keep a big pile of
great toys at the ready, it also allows him a nice comfy spot to continue working on sitting up all alone (a skill which by the way, he has basically mastered.) When someone walks by on the sidewalk outside or a squirrel runs along the front porch railing, Brian is on top of it all!

Dining Out With Brian
Brian enjoys going out to eat at restaurants. It give him a chance to flirt with the waitress's and charm anyone else who is within eye-shot of him. He doesn't understand why his Mommy and Daddy always show him the kids menu, but no one ever asks him what he wants from it! On Grandma and Grandpa H's last night in town we went to a steakhouse which provided Mommy and Daddy the opportunity to take more pictures of Brian that he will hate us for in a few more years. Here's what we mean......

Happy "SOX" Patricks Day!
Brian sends a big HELLO out to Arizona where Grandma and Grandpa D are currently visiting Great Grandma Dorothy and Great Aunt Judy. Grandpa also uses this opportunity to spend some time watching the spring training of our Chicago White Sox. Needless to say, Brian is being groomed to follow in Grandpa's (and Mommy too for that matter) footsteps! Sorry Grandma, the word "Cubs" isn't in his vocabulary yet!

Saw Safety With Brian
Brian has his own little tool box (I'm sure everyone is surprised to hear that huh?!?!) Mommy recently took it out for him to play with and it was fun to see what he grabbed for first. His first selection was..........the saw. With that in mind, Brian would like to walk you through some "saw safety" tips. All of these tips have been verified as being accurate by Daddy and Brian is a trained professional, however, please do not dive into saw play without the proper training and safety equipment.
Tip #1: Analyze your tool to ensure that you have selected correctly.

Tip #2: Always exercise great care when chewing/swallowing your saw.

Tip #3: No matter what - always have a good attitude when taking on a new sawing project!

Parental Bragging Rights
Now that Brian is officially 6 months old, we have taken some toys out of the closet that are designed for kids "6 + months in age". This gumball machine has a lever on the other side that when pushed, along with some lights and sound, releases a big ball out the bottom. On his third sitting with this toy, Brian was pushing the lever all by himself seeming to know exactly what was going to happen when he did it! And, speaking of sitting.....check out how well that is coming along!
