Vacation Adventure - Day 14!

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, so after Daddy and Henry enjoyed an entire day relaxing Wednesday, Thursday morning we loaded into the van to head back to Illinois. Our special thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Hansen not only for hosting our whole motley crew, but especially for making Mommy and Brian's South Dakota vacation so much fun! We are already looking forward to the next time we get to see them!

Daddy will be the first person to tell you that no trip to or from Grandma and Grandpa's house is complete without two things. Number one, you MUST stop at or at the very least, drive by The Corn Palace and number two, no matter what time it is, you MUST call Uncle Colin to tell him that you are there!
The fact that Henry had never seen The Corn Palace before also needed to be corrected, so on our return trip we stopped so that he could get the full tour - both inside and outside the building. Since Brian has been here several times, he wanted to personally show Henry the murals inside the auditorium. Yup, those pictures behind them really are all made out of corn cobs and husks!

Before getting back into the van, Brian posed with Prospector Zeke outside one of the gift shops. Once again, he showed no fear and went right into his "smile for the camera" pose!

On our trip out - we drove all night so that Brian could sleep 98% of the trip. This time we left in the morning so we needed to add a few additional stops in order to let him stretch his legs or have a snack, but once again, he proved to be an excellent long distance traveler! As much fun as we all had - it's always nice to be home again!
