Happy New Year!

If a picture is worth a thousand words........well, need we say more?

From our family to yours, we wish you all a very Happy New Year!

I'm Four Months Old!

Where has the time gone? Brian is already four months old! At this doctors appt he got another batch of shots which is no fun (for Brian or his Mommy!) But, his doctors confirmed again that he is a very healthy little boy who is growing nicely. He now weighs 14 lbs 2 ozs and is 24 inchs long. After the soreness of all the shots wore off, Brian got back to his good natured self and was ready to try out his exersaucer!

Merry Christmas!

Brian's first Christmas was spent with Daddy's side of the family in Illinois and fun was had by all! Although Brian did sleep through some of the festivities, deep down, I know he had a wonderful time! Here are a few photo's from Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpas house. While Grandma opens a special gift, Uncle Colin proves he hasn't forgotten how a feeding works and Aunt June gets a double whammy while holding both Brian and his cousin Haley.

The Boar's Head!

Our church brought back a holiday season tradition this year when the congregation performed "The Boar's Head Festival". Our family got to be very involved as Brian's Daddy organized putting the stage together, Brian's Grandma created the vast majority of the costumes and this year, Brian's Mommy played the part of Mary and more importantly, Brian played the part of the Baby Jesus!

Did Someone Mention Breakfast In Bed?

On our drive back from South Dakota, we spent one night at a hotel. The following morning this event demanded to be captured on film! Of course it was all done with smoke and mirrors since 1) Brian is never left unattended in Mommy and Daddy's bed and 2) Walter is normally not even allowed ON the bed much less IN it!

Brian's First Snowball

On Friday December 1st Chicago saw it's first snow for the season.......and Brian saw his first snow EVER!

HUGE Milestone Made!

November 28th was a momentous night for Brian as well as his parents. On this particular night, Brian began what has now been a consecutive run of nights in which he has slept through the entire night! Brian's Mommy and Daddy will never complain about their son's sleeping habits since they have been blessed with a very good little sleeper. Since coming home from the hospital, he has never woke them up more than twice in a night and even that was rare. For the most part, Brian would wake up just once a night for a quick snack and then fall right back asleep. From the horror stories we have heard from other parents who lost many a nights sleep while waiting for their children to get to the point where they slept through the night, we know how fortunate we have been! However, that doesnt mean we were any less excited about this huge step Brian has made!

I'm Three Months Old - Gobble Gobble!

Well, he will be three months old in a few more days.....but the travelin' baby boy is back in the saddle again, or perhaps back in the car seat would be a more accurate description! This years holiday schedule was to spend Thanksgiving in South Dakota with Mommy's family so, off to Grandma and Grandpa's house we went! It was Brian's longest trip yet and once again, he handled it like a trooper! We were able to spend nearly a week visiting family and friends so there were many special moments on this trip. A few of the favorites were playing with big cousin Nolan and getting lovin' from Grandma and Grandpa.

BE the Corn!

No trip to South Dakota would be complete without a visit to the Corn Palace......especially when you are dressed like an ear of corn! Daddy and Brian capturing the moment in Mitchell South Dakota.

I'm Two Months Old!

Ever the happy little traveler, Brian and this parents marked his two month milestone with another trip to Iowa! While Brian got to spend time visiting with his Great Grandma, Great Aunts and Uncle and some Cousins to boot, Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Corey and Grandma and Grandpa D made themselves useful doing some yardwork. Brian did have time to check on the how the work was progressing though.....and who can pass up a nap in a big pile of leaves?

Halloween!

Brian played co-host at his parents annual pumpkin carving party. But, when someone mentioned "Hey- wouldn't it be cool if Brian WORE a pumpkin???".....his Daddy ran with the idea and the results looked a little something like this!

A pumpkin costume might be a bit uncomfortable so, his actual costume was:

yup....you guessed it, an ear of corn! And, the cutest one in the field if we do say so ourselves!

Baptism Day!

Brian was baptized on October 22. His Mommy and Daddy where thrilled that so many of his family and friends were able to be here with us on this special day. His Uncles Kevin and Colin and their families from Illinois, his Uncle Corey from Minnesota and his Uncle Seth and his family from South Dakota where all able to be here. Both of his Grandma's and Grandpa's and even his Great Grandma from South Dakota were some of the special guests! Brian wore the Christening outfit that his Daddy and all 3 of his brothers wore when they were baptized (and might I add.....he looked adorable in it!)

I'm One Month Old!

Brian continues to be a very healthy boy who is growing and progressing just as he should. He now weighs 10 lbs 13 oz and is 22 1/4 inch's long. After turning 1 month old, he went on his first out of state visit. He went to visit his Great Grandma in Iowa and then onto Minneapolis to meet his uncle Corey - both who are shown with him here!

Congratulations.......Its a Boy!!!

Twelve days before his due date (which would have been on his Daddys birthday), Brian Thomas joined our family! We made the trip to the hospital late in the day on his Mommy birthday, but he held out until the next morning so that he could share his birthday with his Grandpa H! What a kid.......just born and he already knows how to share!
